Texas is sure a Big State!!!!

We are in a town that is one of the best small towns in the Country. I stopped by hear five years ago when I golfed across the Country for kids, I developed some lasting friendships and fond memories and they have not forgot how crazy I am. Ozona, TX was sure surprised when I dropped by the Fire Department with my pink fire truck. We have spent a whole day here and they gave me a new spare tire and rewired the trailer and fixed some lights. If you happen to be driving to San Antonio going east or El Paso going West please stop by this town, Miss Lou runs the fire house and she can rally all the fire personal for a meet and great in short notice. Please eat at the Hitching Post restaurant and have a British Hamburger, it is the best hamburger I have ever had, tell Matt that the Pink Ribbon Tour sent you.
The Fire Chief is going to have all the gang wear pink on these three days and the guys are trying to get him to paint the reserve truck pink, I bet they do!

We made it to Las Cruces

People all over the country are starting to call and ask if the pink fire truck can come to their town. You can imagine how hard it is for me to say NO to anybody if I could I would stay on the road for a year. Memphis fire department wanted me to come to their city and I had to say NO, but maybe next year. I just got a phone call from the wife of a fire Chief in South Bend Indiana and since it is on or way to Chicago we will make a stop. They are on board the Cares Enough to Wear Pink event, they have even talked about using a reserve truck to paint pink and fundraise for their women of South Bend. Please remember I do not want any money from the works of the Fire and Police going to our Organization from this event other than fuel or expense money. This Event is to inspire thousands of fire and police agencies to get in pink for their women and then raise money for their own Breast Cancer organizations. This is truly a great country and I am proud to be a part of the Public Safety here in the US.

The First Day of an Incredible Journey!!!!

Wow, are start at Arrowhead was awesome! I was overwhelmed with the support that was showed for our truck and crew. We had so many motorcycle riders and so many people that we have become friends with through this event. I was really appreciative for the support I was given by the fire departments, Mesa, Peoria, Luke Air Force Base, and Glendale Fire. The support from my friends and family are what this thing is all about and I am so happy, it was exactly how I planned it to be, THANK YOU!

We left Glendale Arrowhead Mall and went to Westgate shopping center with a motorcycle escort that was about 1 mile long, what a site!!! We then headed to Casa Grande where we made a quick stop in front of a Target to meet and great some more breast cancer survivors. From there we went to Kohl's on Cortaro road in North Tucson and met with four different fire departments, Northwest Fire District, Tucson Fire, Rural Fire Department, Golder Ranch fire district. They are all coming together for our women and they are all wanting to get on board wearing pink on these three days in October 25th, 26th and 27th. Thanks To Kelly McCoy of Northwest fire and Dan Burke of Tucson fire for getting this put together.

(Between the Starbucks and Movie theatre in the Amphitheatre We hope to have a collection of fire trucks from each city in the valley. We are asking that each fire truck have some sign of pink on it in support of our women. We are asking all motorcycle enthusiasts to please wear pink and

escort our pink truck to Tucson. Gathering around 10am and leaving at 11am

This will be a big day for the event and we want everybody to please show up.

Governor of Arizona signs Pink Fire Truck

We have come a long way since September of last year, when I came up with the idea of driving a pink fire truck with a statue behind it across America. The truck and statue are full of signatures from women that either have breast cancer, a breast cancer survivor, lost somebody to breast cancer or a women who just wants to acknowledge her support for what we are doing. We are getting support from Mayor's and Chiefs from all over the Country and the list is growing every day.

July 17 at 10am was one of our biggest days yet, when the Governor of Arizona came walking down the steps at the Capitol to sign our beautiful pink fire truck, yes she too is a breast cancer survivor. Governor Janet Napolitano said some wonderful things about our event and was so gracious to everyone there, that I plan on visiting the Capitol next January while they are in session. We are going to touch so many lives with this truck and statue and her support will not go unnoticed as we make our way to other cities across America. She truly leads by example and not by title, we are lucky to have her.

Meeting friends along our journey is Great!!!!!

While driving down the Mountain our breaks got hot so we had to pull into Pine AZ. While there we met Tracy and Harold who happened to pull into the parking lot to take a look at the Pink fire truck and it so happened they new how to work on Semi trucks. They gave us a little class on the engine and brakes and even told me how to use my gears and brakes while going down the mountains. In a sense they could have saved our lives, we all know what would have happened if the brakes went out on the truck. They even went home and brought back some tools and road reflectors to give us, just in case!! Tracy and Harold are the reason this event is so great and why this Country is awesome and they are the many reasons why this event has been so successful. We even invited them to come along the two month journey to help out, we all know what kind of mechanic I am. lol Thanks Tracy and Harold, keep the food in the refrigerator cold, we will be back to see you guys. July 4th celebration in Show Low was a HIT!!!!!!!

We took the pink fire truck and statue of the ribbon to Show Low AZ over the weekend and it was quite a hit with the locals. Thanks goes out to Karen Lynn from the dispatch center and Dan from the Fire department for making the weekend a great success for the women of Show Low. I also want to thank Fire Chief Owen's and his wife and son Brian for helping me with fixing the truck and donating a few lights. Show Low Fire and Police are going to be in pink on the 25th, 26th and 27th of October.
